A client in the US showed interest in my leather tassel key chains and asked if I could make a small collection in different colors. Because I always prepare for the Christmas rush and I was planning to make more tassels anyway, I replied that I’d loved to do this. So I looked in my stock for some nice colors and started cutting.
After an afternoon of cutting, I had more than twenty pre cut tassels in bright colors lying in front of me. Most of them in different sizes, because I like the variety. Afterwards I sighed to my husband: “I really like making tassels, but cutting al those separate fringes is killing me. Can’t you make a cutter for my tassels?” I showed him how I cut my tassels by hand and he got to work!
Now, a few weeks later, I am the proud owner of three home-made cutters in different sizes. I’ll tell you more about this in my next blog.
The tassels I pepared are ready now. These will be the last ones I cut entirely by hand :-). I used different kinds of leather for each tassel, and made them in different sizes and models too. I even used fur for the top of a tassel for the first time. I love varying. Making the same tassels over and over again, is not my cup of tea. Have a look at my pictures: they turned out absolutely gorgeous !
Leuk Rina! Mooie kleurtjes ook! Groeten Rose
Dankje. Vandaag gaat een box met tassels naar NY?
Ze zien er enig uit! Ook wel makkelijk als je een super handige man hebt:-]!
