A few years ago I started following classes in Art History and Architecture. Some of the lectures described the first decades of the 20th century. This period was particularly interesting because of the big changes in art and architecture. At that time Art Deco, De Stijl and Bauhaus were “blooming” movements and gathered a lot of interest and followers.
De STIJL was an artistic movement dating back from 1917 to 1931 and originated in the Netherlands. Well known members of the movement were Piet Mondriaan and Theo van Doesburg. These artists inspired me to create several bags in this geometric and colorful style, some of which some are still available in my shop.
