If you have never heard of Black Friday or Cyber Monday, they are well-known shopping days in the US. These are the two most important and most busy shopping days before Christmas in the United States and it looks like Europe is catching the super discount shopping bug too.
Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) marks the beginning of the US Christmas shopping season. Shoppers in the United States dash to the stores to get a hold of the last “hot” items on sale, usually at a very desirable discount. Black Friday has also given birth to the online shopping rush on the following Monday, aptly coined Cyber Monday. This term was first used in a 2005 press release by shop.org describing the online rush. The phrase was quickly picked up by online resellers and soon it became the second top grossing shopping day in the US!
The success of Cyber Monday has made itself famous in other countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom and others European countries. So much so that countries far and wide have also started offering deals on this very day, spreading the shopping buzz to every corner of the world.
